Andrew Beattie

Andrew is a qualified Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineer, a member of CCCA, and a registered Independent Qualified Person (IQP). Andrew’s vast experience in design & build projects combined with his extensive network across the industry has been key to the company’s continued growth.

Dave leads our residential and commercial daily operations. With 30+ years of experience in design and project management of mechanical building services, Dave’s extensive experience in HVAC has led to the successful delivery of thousands of Projects across the South Island.

Dan is a qualified HVAC engineer with a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (NZCE equivalent), specializing in mechanical design and drafting. He been with us fo over 15 years and managed various high value HVAC projects, incorporating CHW/HHW and VRF technologies. His expertise encompasses project management, design, engineering, and CAD.

Keerthy is an expert in cost management and project estimation, ensuring budget adherence from initial calculations to final figures. With several years of experience in HVAC equipment, value engineering, and project costing, he excels in analyzing project viability and reducing financial risk. His expertise ensures projects are cost-effective and meet the highest industry standards.

Design Engineer

Aidan Barclay

Aidan brings over 10 years of experience in mechanical and hydraulic engineering, project management, and CAD drafting. Previously a National BIM/CAD Manager, his expertise extends to advanced proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, BIM360, and Revizto. He specializes in BIM modeling, design coordination, and construction monitoring.

Paul Ferguson

Paul is a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) with degrees in Civil, Structural, and Environmental Engineering, and Mathematics. With 10 years of experience, Paul is an experienced team leader with extensive knowledge in seismic restraint systems. His expertise brings our in-house capabilities to a new level, as we can handle PS1s right through to PS4s.

BUILDING A SOLID REPUTATION

35 Years of Achievement

Since our establishment in 1986, we have built a solid reputation for delivering exceptional service, innovative solutions, and reliable performance in both residential and commercial HVAC sectors.

1987

The Company Was Established

Andrew seized the opportunity to become an HVAC and refrigeration contractor. He operated out of his home office and storage units, spending his days working on the tools and his nights handling office work.

1988

Growth & Relocation

Within six months of incorporating, Andrew outgrew his storage units and relocated to a new site on Colombo Street in the city. This central location significantly boosted the company's growth.

1989 - 1999

Building a Team, buying a building

In just two years, Andrew had built a team of six HVAC technicians and hired an office administrator. He purchased a building on Carlyle Street in Sydenham to accommodate the growing business. However, as space quickly became an issue again, he decided to purchase the adjacent building to meet the expanding

2000 - 2005

Diversification

After completing hundreds of residential and commercial HVAC installations over many years, Andrew noticed a gap in the market. He decided to launch Beattie Electrical, which rapidly expanded to a team of 80. To reflect its broad range of services, including underfloor heating, solar energy, and hot water heat pumps, Beattie Electrical soon rebranded as Beattie Energy.

2006 - 2017

Commercial Growth

Beattie Air and Beattie Electrical gained market share across Canterbury, known for reliable service. As the installation and maintenance divisions grew, they became large enough to operate independently. Thus, Beattie Air Conditioning Service Ltd was established as a subsidiary, focused on servicing and maintaining commercial and residential HVAC systems.

2018 - Now

Under One Roof

Andrew designed a new facility, warehouse, and showroom at Hickory Place, Islington, to house both Beattie Group companies under one roof. This purpose-built location allows all staff and subcontractors to work efficiently and synergistically from a prime central location in Christchurch.
