Wigram Archives
The Wigram Archives was commissioned by the Government in 2016 as a placement for the Peterborough Street building, damaged in the Christchurch earthquakes. The purpose-built facility has been one the most interesting projects for Beattie Air.
The HVAC system in this building is a work of art, combining chillers, boilers, water systems, air handlers, fans and dehumidifiers, controlled by a BMS, for a total climatise environment. As part of our services, we currently maintain the equipment, to keep the system at it’s best condition.
Christchurch Water Treatment Plant (CWTP)
The building is a new Laboratory for the Christchurch City Council on the Bromley treatment plant site to replace their current outdated lab. We have provided the HVAC, BMS and Lab Gasses on this project.
The Ventilation includes ducted Fan Coil Units, constant and variable volume AHU’s, HEPA filtered outdoor air supply and various extracts including Nederman arms, and Fume cupboards.
The Heating/Cooling is supplied via two Heat Pump/Chillers, running in as standalone heat/cool systems, with change over valving to enable both to run in heat or cool as required if load requires or due to faults/maintenance shutdowns. Along with split type AC units in Comms/server/UPS rooms.
The Lab Gasses include piped systems from an external bottle store, including LPG, Hydrogen, Helium, Argon, Oxygen & Nitrogen. Compressed Air & Vacuum lines are also piped around the lab, with equipment in the plantroom.
All services are then fully integrated into the councils existing city-wide BMS system by Setpoint Solutions Ltd
We are very proud of our achievement’s on this project, and along with the main contractor C Lund & Son Ltd and our sub-contractors, have created a high quality building for our client.
Ao Tawhiti Unlimited Discovery
The Ao Tawhiti Unlimited Discovery is a school in the central Christchurch area. With its state of art design, it definitely catches your eye. We worked with Leighs Construction Ltd, heading the project, to construct a HVAC system to compliment this amazing building.
Over the four floors, the system was designed using Daikin ducted units to give a seamless look throughout the classrooms. With the limited roof space the engineers had to design a compacted network of ducting to achieve the air quality required in each class room.
Akaroa Health Hub
The Akaroa Health Hub is an integrated family health centre in Aylmers Valley. It has replaced the Akaroa Hospital built in 1926 that sadly was unusable after the earthquakes of 2011. Commissioned by Watts & Hughes, we are proud to be able to help the Akaroa community rebuild their health care facility.
The residential care area is heated with a Mitsubishi Electric underfloor heating system. The system uses two manifolds to serve 8 rooms. The rest of the complex has Mitsubishi Electric ducted and lossnay units, supplying the areas with clean fresh air at the desired temperature.
