Delivering Performance on a Major Supermarket Build

Beattie Air is proud to have delivered the full mechanical package for the brand-new Pak’nSave Rolleston — one of Canterbury’s most anticipated supermarket developments. Working alongside main contractor Naylor Love, we were responsible for the delivery of the complete HVAC and kitchen extract systems for this large-scale retail build.

The project was completed on schedule with commissioning finalised in mid-2025. This marks a standout performance for our team in both technical execution and delivery.

Key Features and Systems

• Mitsubishi Electric VRF System: Extensive multi-outdoor unit setup delivering zoned climate control throughout the building

• Temperzone AHU: Integrated into the VRF system, installed with BDT-supplied condensate pumps and anti-vibration mounts

• Heat Recovery Ventilation (HRV): SIMX units deployed to maintain air quality and humidity levels in key zones

• Fans and Ventilation: Full suite of Fantech fans (Jetline, PUDEC, MAD, ECO), with ducting connected to Holyoake grilles, diffusers, and RLP dampers

• Commercial Kitchen Extraction: Custom Staybrite and Stoddart hoods installed in the bakery, deli, and food prep zones

• In-house Seismic Design: Our engineering team provided PS1–PS4 seismic design not just for our own equipment, but for all HVAC, plumbing, and electrical trades — streamlining compliance for the builder

Outcome and Ongoing Involvement

In addition to delivering the installation to spec, we’ll return for four scheduled quarterly maintenance visits in the first year and are actively positioned to take over long-term HVAC maintenance of the facility.
